Zered

Zihr´id

The Brook, a brook that empties into the Dead Sea at its extreme southeast corner. The crossing of this stream concluded the Israelites’ desert wanderings (Num 21:12; Deut 2:13-14). Probably the modern Wadi el-Hesa, it cleaves the high eastern plateau to join the southern end of the Dead Sea. It constitutes the frontier between Moab and Edom and is perhaps the “Brook of the Willows” referred to in (Isa 15:7).
