Zeb´uh-dee
A fisherman and the father of Jesus’s disciples James and John (Matt 4:21-22; Mark 1:19-20; Luke 5:10). His wife, who may have been named Salome (Mark 15:40), was one of the women ministering to Jesus (Matt 27:56). The reference to “hired men” (Mark 1:20) suggests that he was a man of some affluence.
