Tob

The hometown of a group of “outlaws” who associated with Jephthah (Judg 11:3-5) after he fled from his half brothers. The town also supplied mercenaries to the Ammonites in their wars with David (2Sam 10:6-13). The location is probably modern et-Taiyibeh, about twelve miles east and slightly north of Ramoth-gilead.
