Theudas


Thoo´duhs

Tthe leader of a messianic movement in Judah. According to the Jewish historian Josephus, Theudas was killed by the Romans ca. 44 CE (Antiquities 20.97–98). Theudas is also mentioned in the NT (Acts 5:36-37), but he is there placed prior to another revolutionary, one Judas, who led his doomed rebellion about 6 CE.
