1 The tribal or geographical identification of Job’s visiting friend Eliphaz (Job 2:11), who offered several speeches (Job 4:1; Job 15:1; Job 22:1). Having received the charge of God’s wrath (Job 42:7), he obeyed the Lord’s instructions (Job 42:9) and left the scene. It may refer to origins in either Edom (see Teman 2) or northern Arabia (see Tema 2). 2 The tribal or geographic identification of Hisham, an Edomite king (Gen 36:34; 1Chr 1:45).
