Tap´yoo-uh
1 A town of the Shephelah (Josh 15:34), perhaps modern Beit Nettif, west of Bethlehem. 2 A northern town on the border of Ephraim and Manasseh (Josh 16:8), probably Tell Sheik Abu Zarad, south of Shechem. Ephraim possessed the town, but the territory of Tappuah was occupied by Manasseh (Josh 17:8). Menahem sacked Tappuah (2Kgs 15:16). A king of Tappuah was beaten by Joshua (Josh 12:17); probably one of the sites above is indicated.
