Shilonite

Someone from Shiloh. 1 Ahijah the prophet is so identified five times (1Kgs 11:29; 1Kgs 12:15; 1Kgs 15:29; 2Chr 9:29; 2Chr 10:15), perhaps reflecting his association with the shrine there. 2 The father of Zechariah (Neh 11:5). 3 A group among those settling Jerusalem after the exile (1Chr 9:5). Some argue that the instances in 2 and 3 are erroneous and should be designated “Shelonite,” as in (Num 26:20).
