Sheleph

Shee´lif

A son of Joktan (Gen 10:26; 1Chr 1:20). The names of Joktan’s other sons indicate that Sheleph designated not an individual, but more likely an Arabian tribe. The association with Hazarmaveth (i.e., the Hadramaut region in southwest Arabia) suggests a location in modern Yemen.
