Sal´uh-mis
A city on the eastern coast of Cyprus, which, according to Greek mythology, was founded at the end of the Trojan War. Named after the island of Salamis, it eventually developed around the excellent natural harbor, becoming the main port of Cyprus and a commercial center for the Roman Empire.
