Sun-dried grapes used for food (Song 2:5), gifts (1Sam 25:18-31; 2Sam 16:1-4), military rations (1Chr 12:40), or religious offerings (Hos 3:1; Isa 16:7; Jer 7:18). They were nourishing and traveled well both unprocessed and pressed into cakes.
