Pisidia

Pi-sid´ee-uh

A mountainous region just north of Pamphylia in south-central Asia Minor that, in 25 BCE, became part of the Roman province of Galatia. Paul and Barnabas passed through this region twice during their first journey (Acts 13:14-51; Acts 14:24) and were persecuted in its principal city, Antioch, where there was apparently a sizable Jewish community (Acts 13:14-15; Acts 13:43-45).
