A headrest, whether made out of goats’ hair (conjectural translation in 1Sam 19:13, 1Sam 19:16) or another material, such as stone (Gen 28:11; Gen 28:18). The pillow (NRSV: “cushion”) on which Jesus slept in the boat (Mark 4:38) was probably a seat pad.
