Fahr´pahr

One of the two rivers of Damascus according to (2Kgs 5:12). It is probably to be identified with the modern Nahr el-Awaj, which flows from Mt. Hermon in an easterly direction and passes about ten miles south of Damascus. Together with the Abana (modern Nahr el-Barada) it waters the fertile Damascus oasis.
