A container for mixing ingredients in preparing bread (Exod 8:3; Exod 12:34; Deut 28:5; Deut 28:17). It could be made of wood, bronze, or pottery and was important enough to be taken along when people traveled (Exod 12:34). Although shallow, it could be round or irregularly shaped. Kneading was done usually by hand, but it could be done by foot also.
