Goh´shuhn

1 The fertile region in the eastern Nile Delta of Egypt (modern Wadi Tumi-la) where the family of Jacob was allowed to settle (Gen 47:27-29, also known as “the land of Rameses” (Gen 47:11). The Hebrews were still dwelling in the region at the time of the plagues (Exod 8:22; Exod 9:26). From this territory Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt (Exod 4-13). 2 A geographical region between the southern hill country of Judah and the Negeb, mentioned only in (Josh 10:41 and Josh 11:16). Its precise delineations are unknown. Possibly it should be related to 3. 3 A city in the southern hill country of Judah, in the same district as Debir (modern Khirbet Rabud), Anab, Socoh, and Eshtamoh (Josh 15:41). Its identification is unknown.
