Yria (see´lee-sihr´ee-uh; Lat., from Gk., lit., “hollow Syria”), the valley between the Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon ranges, modern Bekaa (Josh 11:17). In the Apocrypha, it also refers to the Seleucid province in that valley, or to southwestern Syria (2Macc 3:5; 2Macc 4:4; 2Macc 8:8).
