Cilicia

Suh-lish´ee-uh

A Roman province along the southeastern coast of Asia Minor, bounded by the Taurus Mountains on the north. Tarsus, the hometown of Paul (Acts 21:39; Acts 22:3), was located on the eastern plain. Acts records that Paul passed through the area during his second journey (Acts 15:40-41) and also later when he departed from Antioch for Galatia and Phrygia (Acts 18:23).
