Bin´yoo-i; Heb., “built” or “building”

1 A family group (“descendants of Binnui”) who returned with Zerubbabel from the Babylonian captivity (Neh 7:15), also called the “descendants of Bani” (Ezra 2:10). 2 A member of the clan of Bani who was condemned by Ezra for taking a foreign wife (Ezra 10:38). 3 A member of the clan of Pahath-moab who was likewise condemned (Ezra 10:30). 4 A Levite of the clan of Henadad who helped repair the walls of Jerusalem and who signed the covenant to keep the law (Neh 3:24; Neh 10:9); he is possibly the same Levite who returned from the exile with Zerubbabel (Neh 12:8).
