1 A large family group (“descendants of Bigvai”) who returned with Zerubbabel from the Babylonian captivity (Ezra 2:14). 2 A smaller family group led by Uthai and Zabbud who returned later with Ezra (Ezra 8:14). 3 A leader of the postexilic community who returned from the exile with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:2); he is possibly the same person who later signed the covenant to keep the law (Neh 10:16). He could be the head of the family groups above or simply a member of a group.
