Bel-shaz´uhr; Neo-Babylonian Bel-shar-utzur, “Bel protect the king”
In (Dan 5:2) the son of Nebuchadnezzar and the last king of Babylon (Dan 5:30-31). He gives a feast that is interrupted by the mysterious appearance of fingers writing on the wall. Daniel interprets the writing and denounces Belshazzar, who is slain that very night.
