Bee´kuh

A unit of weight averaging about 6.2 grams. (Exod 38:26) identifies it as half a shekel “by the shekel of the sanctuary” (NRSV). See also (Gen 24:22) and (Exod 30:13, Exod 30:15) for its use as gift and offering. (Matt 17:24) indicates the unit was used as the amount for the Temple tax.
