Barzillai

Bahr-zil´i

One of three wealthy individuals from the region of Gilead who sent food and other supplies to David and his followers when they were at Mahanaim during the rebellion of David’s son Absalom (2Sam 17:27-29). Invited to become a part of David’s court at Jerusalem, Barzillai refused the honor because of his advanced age (eighty years).
