Bay´uh-nuh

1 The son of Ahilud and a district administrator under King Solomon. He was responsible for provisioning the king for one month of the year from the district around Megiddo and in the Jezreel Valley in north-central Israel (1Kgs 4:12). 2 The son of Hushai and another official with similar duties in Asher, the coastal area of far northern Israel (1Kgs 4:16). 3 The father of Zadok, one who helped repair the Fish Gate in Jerusalem under Nehemiah (Neh 3:4); he is possibly the same person called Baanah listed as one of those who returned from Babylon with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:2; Neh 10:27).
