Amminadab

Uh-min´uh-dab; Heb., “my kinsman is noble”

1 The father of both Elisheba, Aaron’s wife (Exod 6:23), and Nahshan, a tribal leader of Judah during the wilderness wanderings (Num 2:3). He is named in the lineage of King David (Ruth 4:19-20) and in the ancestry of Jesus (Luke 3:33). 2 A Levite of the clan of Kohath (1Chr 6:22), probably the same one who, as leader of the clan of Uzziel (Kohath’s son), helped bring the Ark of the Covenant from the house of Obed-edom to Jerusalem (1Chr 15:10).
