Alamoth

Al´uh-moth; Heb., “young maidens”

A musical direction of unknown origin and meaning. Its derivation has led some to suggest it may mean “to be sung by young women” (Ps 46), but its use as a direction for playing the harp (1Chr 15:20) implies a musical theme or rhythm.
