This is the most frequent use of the noun. 2 A noun referring to a clan or element of a tribe (Judg 6:15; Num 10:4). 3 Term used frequently to express a long period of time (Ps 84:10; Ps 90:4; 2Pet 3:8; Rev 20:3). In the NT, one thousand years are reckoned in God’s time as but a day (2Pet 3:8), and multiples of thousands are used to describe large numbers (Mark 6:44; Mark 8:9; Acts 2:41; Acts 4:4; Rev 7:4-8; Rev 21:16). 4 A noun used to refer to a military unit (1Sam 8:12; 1Chr 13:1).
