Jay´min; Heb., either “right-hand” or “south” [on the right facing east]

1 A son of Simeon who went with Jacob to Egypt (Gen 46:10); he became the head of the clan of the Jaminites who left Egypt with Moses (Exod 6:15; Num 26:12). 2 The son of Ram, a descendant of Judah (1Chr 2:27). 3 A son of Simeon (1Chr 4:24). 4 One, probably a Levite, who explained to the people the law read by Ezra (Neh 8:7).
