Iz´hahr; Heb., “fresh [olive] oil”

1 The son of Kohath and grandson of Levi (Exod 6:18) and the ancestral head of one of the major subdivisions of the Kohathite clan of Levites, the Izharites (Num 3:27). He was the father of Korah, the leader of the wilderness rebellion against Moses and Aaron (Num 16:1). 2 The son of Ashur and Helah; a descendant of Judah (1Chr 4:7).
